    Research Interest

My research interests are in the areas of pattern formations in nonlinear chemical reactions, which oscillate far from a thermodynamic equlibrium. More specifically, I work mostly on dynamics and controls of spiral waves and turbulent pattern in the Belousov-Zhabotinsky (BZ) reaction, both experimentally and numerically. I also work on swelling-deswelling of the self-oscillating polymer gel induced by the BZ reaction. This photosensitive polymer gel can undergo volume changes by swelling–deswelling in response to external stimuli, such as temperature or illumination, and acts as an artificial muscle.
