Research Interest

The central research theme of Dr.Palangpon’s laboratory is to understand how bioactive small molecules function and their interactions with molecular targets as well as development of molecular sensors. On the interface of chemistry, biology and nanotechnology, molecular targets of various active natural products have been elucidated through modern bioanalytical technologies with chemical synthesis, x-ray crystallography, fluorescece bioimaging, etc. Importantly, basic research knowledge has been translated into varioius commercial products for food safety, cosmetics, drugs, and bioassays. He also regularly contributes in science communications through various formats.
