Research Interest
Our works are divided into two areas which entail development of new synthetic methodologies and bioassy-guided natural product isolation. The group has developed methods for oxidative functionalization of non-functionalized alkenes, decarboxylative functionalization of unsaturated organic acids and functionalization of heteroaromatic compounds. For natural product chemistry, we have been working on plants in the genus Dasymaschalon and Garcinia with cytotoxic, anti-HIV and anti-inflammatory activities.
